How many students are in your child's ballet class?
Ivan Pryntsev
Students come to me after five or six years at another school with no foundation at all.
Not because they aren't talented. Because nobody ever saw them.
Let me be clear about what I mean, because this is specific to ballet. A jazz or hip-hop class of twenty-five works fine — the teacher teaches the combination and the room learns it together.
Ballet is not built that way. Ballet is built one correction at a time, on one body. The teacher sees the fault, corrects it, watches again, corrects again. Turnout, knees, arms, shoulders. That takes time with each individual child. In a room of twenty-five, there is no time with each child.
The class looks full. The recital looks good. Six years pass.
We cap our ballet classes at up to 15 students. It means more sections, more teacher hours, and telling families a class is closed when it fills. We do it because that is the ceiling where every child still gets corrected in every class.
Come to a trial class and see for yourself how we make sure your dancer is improving and growing.
You cannot get the time back. You can only decide today to do better.
