Vadim Muntagirov

Vadim Muntagirov is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. He was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, the son of two dancers. He trained at the Perm Ballet School before moving to The Royal Ballet Upper School. Mr. Muntagirov performed as a Principal Dancer with the English National Ballet until joining the Royal Ballet as a Principal in 2014.

His numerous lead roles with The Royal Ballet include Basilio (Don Quixote), Albrecht (Giselle), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Prince Florimund (The Sleeping Beauty), Prince (The Nutcracker), Colas (La Fille mal gardée), Lensky (Onegin), Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), Don José (Carmen), ‘Diamonds’ (Jewels), The Human Seasons, Symphonic Variations, The Four Temperaments, Afternoon of a Faun, Tchaikovsky Pas de deux and Within the Golden Hour.

Mr. Muntagirov’s many accolades include the 2011 Outstanding Male Performance (Classical), 2018 and 2015 Best Male Dancer at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, and the 2018 and 2013 Prix Benois de la Danse. He has performed as a Guest Artist with Paris Opera Ballet, Mariinsky Theatre, American Ballet Theatre, National Ballet of Japan, Bavarian State Ballet, Mikhailovsky Theatre, and Cape Town City Ballet.
